Setting up the LINE bot

First, login into the LINE developers console at https://developers.line.biz/ and create a new provider to contain your bot:

<aside> ⚠️ Please Note: Line allows you to configure the channel to be used by bots OR manual chat but NOT both.

To use this connector, the LINE channel MUST have bot selected

If you currently send posts to contacts manually via the selected channel (without going through the bot) you will need to create a new channel to use this service.

After this, select to create a Messaging API channel and configure the channel according to your business requirements

Finally, you will need to configure your bot within the LINE console by changing the following values:

Untitled Database

<aside> ⚠️ Please Note: Within the Webhook URL, the phrase accountId is account***<uppercase i>***d

If you do not match the case stipulated within the URL, the webhook will fail.

<aside> ⚠️ Please Note: If you create multiple Line accounts within your Eloqua instance, you will need to update the webhook to include the account selector. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Locate the account within the channel settings within Eloqua (see channel configuration)
  2. Make a note of the numeric position the account is located within the list, 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
  3. Subtract 1 from the position and make a note of this, e.g. 1st in the list ⇒ 0 2nd in the list ⇒ 1 3rd in the list ⇒ 2 etc....

Before the channel can be used, the app must be installed by clicking on the link below.
